The spectacular Museum of The Moon event held in Sherborne Abbey proved an enormous hit this weekend with thousands of visitors descending on Sherborne to take inspiration from Luke Jerram's 7 metre replica moon which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first moon landings. Sherborne was lucky to have fantastic weather which helped draw out the crowds.
Discover Sherborne has been working with local schools to encourage the school children of Sherborne to actively participate in the Dorset Moon event being held in the town of the weekend of 5-7th July.
They have been using their imagination to create artwork and sculptures about the moon and the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing. As a result, the winning entries are being displayed in participating shop windows from 26th June throughout the town. Look out for some amazing artworks from our talented local children.
