The Sherborne Literary Society was formed early in 2012 and is open to everyone.

The aims are to bring together national and local writers to discuss their work. Provide a forum for the area’s own aspiring writers. Create an interest in books amongst young audiences. Raise the culture of reading. Demonstrate the fun and creativity associated with the written word. Run an annual Literary Festival for Sherborne and the surrounding area

This prestigious charity event, taking place on Sunday 21st July, is now in its 16th year and regarded as one of the premier classic and supercar shows in the South of England. More than 2,000 vehicles will be exhibited including vintage, classic, rally, race, supercars, American, custom and hot rods. There will be over 150 trade, craft and Autojumble stands plus a Charterhouse car auction, live music in the catering village, amusements for children and beautiful picnic places

For the first time, the ‘Dorset Moon’, event weekend will offer events and happenings centered around and under the world-renowned installation piece ‘Museum of the Moon’ by international artist Luke Jerram. This wonderful display will take place in Sherborne's historic Abbey over the weekend of 5-7th July.

This is a "Not to be missed" event for visitor's and locals alike. There will be a host of activities happening during the weekend, including a "Moon Walk" down Cheap street and local school children's moon related drawing and painting competitions.
